Mediation and Arbitration

We are committed to resolving our clients civil and domestic relations disputes using mediation and arbitration. While we are experienced and successful litigation attorneys, we recognize that litigation is the most expensive method to resolve disputes and it has the least certain results. Mediation and arbitration enable our clients and their adversaries to control the outcome of their dispute. In many cases, mediation and arbitration can reduce animosity and allow clients to maintain important business and personal relationships.

• Mediation is a confidential process in which one of our registered mediators assists parties in resolving disputes. It is an informal process conducted with or without lawyers. While the mediator has no authority to impose a settlement, the mediator often will advise the parties about alternative solutions to their conflict as well as the possible outcomes if the dispute must go to litigation. While mediation is effective in resolving a variety of disputes, it is particularly well suited to family law, divorce, business litigation, and probate and trust disputes.
• Arbitration is a process where a case is presented to a neutral arbitrator for a decision that is generally legally binding. Arbitration clauses are commonly written into construction contracts as the agreed method to resolve construction disputes. Arbitration is also used to resolve business disputes, family law disputes, personal injury matters, and employment law disputes.
